Summer in Vail Valley means you can hike in the morning, drink wine at an outdoor festival in the afternoon, and catch a live concert before the sun goes down. All without getting in your car!

Here’s a look at some of our favorite events this summer.

Choose Your Moment: Big Summer Events at a Glance

  • GoPro Mountain Games (June 5-8) - The ultimate celebration of adventure sports, music, and mountain lifestyle. Don’t forget the Dock Dogs!

Where to Stay: Vail, Lionshead or Beaver Creek

Vail Village and Lionshead work best if you want to walk to most events. You can grab coffee, wander through galleries, end the night at a wine bar and still be a few minutes from your bed. This is ideal if your trip revolves around the GoPro Mountain Games, Bravo Vail, The Amp Summer Concerts, the Vail Farmers Market or the Vail Wine and Craft Beer weekends.

Beaver Creek feels quieter and more tucked away. It is the natural base for Beaver Creek Oktoberfest and is perfect if you like golf, spa treatments, pool time and slower evenings after a few days in Vail.

Simple Planning Tips That Make the Week Smoother

  • Book early for GoPro Mountain Games, July Fourth, Bravo Vail and Vail Wine Classic weekends. The best rooms go fast.

  • Stay walkable. From scenic walks along Gore Creek to the in-town busses, it’s easy to get around without the stress of finding a parking spot.

  • Pack for layers. Think light jacket, comfortable walking shoes and sun protection. SPF is essential at altitude!
